At CHC, we are passionately dedicated to helping students pursue and develop the gifts and callings on their lives. This is why we have introduced the Early Offer Pathways to provide you with an early offer to your preferred course without having to wait for the end of Year 12 and without the need for an ATAR.

We recognise that an ATAR isn’t the only indication of someone’s ability to succeed at studying and pursuing a career and that numerous factors, including both external and individual circumstances, can influence the outcome of a student’s schooling.

These pathways allow you to receive an early conditional offer from CHC. They are open to all Year 12 students and mean that you can concentrate on completing Year 12 with the confidence that you have already been accepted into your preferred CHC course. All students entering via an Early Offer Pathway will have the same academic expectations as all CHC students but will also benefit from CHC’s high level of student support.

With a letter from your Principal, and any extra documents as indicated below, you can receive a conditional offer for your future course without your ATAR. This means you can guarantee your place at CHC without waiting for your results.

To be eligible for the CHC Principal’s Reference Early Offer Pathway, an applicant must:

  • Be a current Year 12 student who is studying in an Australian school; and
  • Provide a letter from their Principal that attests to the likelihood of their success in their preferred course at CHC.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the Principal’s Reference Early Offer Pathway, applicants must submit an via the CHC website.

Applicants are also to submit a QTAC application that lists as the first preference the same course as indicated in the CHC ‘Early Offer’ application.

With your application, you need to upload your Principal’s Reference letter AND any documents indicated for your course below. Click the title of the columns below for definitions and information.

REFERENCE LETTER INFORMATION

To be accepted, your Principal’s Reference Letter must be on the official letterhead of your school and be signed and dated by your Principal. The letter must include:

  • Your full name;
  • The name of the course that you are applying for; and
  • A short reference in which your Principal recommends you for the course on the basis of your academic ability and your personal and/or professional suitability for the course. In the event that the Principal does not know you well, the letter can include a direct quote from a teacher or a school counsellor (the person’s name and connection with you is also to be included).

LAUNCH PATHWAY

CHC Offers the LAUNCH program to years 11 and 12 students. Through this program, students can complete up to 3 CHC units for free while still at school. Students who successfully complete a unit in the CHC LAUNCH program while in Years 11 or 12 meet the academic requirements for entry to the related CHC course. This means you can guarantee your place at CHC without needing an ATAR or waiting for your final Year 12 results.

To be eligible for the CHC LAUNCH Early Offer Pathway, an applicant must:

  • Be a current Year 12 student who is studying in an Australian school; and
  • Have successfully completed at least one unit in Years 11 and/or 12 as part of the CHC LAUNCH program; and
  • Be applying for admission to a course that is related to at least one of these units.

HOME SCHOOL PATHWAY

CHC endeavours to support home schooling. In order to make access to higher education as easy as possible, we have introduced the CHC Home School Early Offer Pathway.

We believe that CHC is a good fit for students who have undertaken home schooling. CHC’s smaller class sizes and strong student community mean that students can access lecturers more readily and are supported by a close-knit and Christian-oriented community.

Through the Home School Pathway, students’ school results will be assessed on a case-by-case basis so that all systems are recognised and individual circumstances taken into account.

To be eligible for the CHC Home School Early Offer Pathway, an applicant must:

  • Be undertaking at least their senior schooling (Years 11-12) as part of a registered home-schooling system.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EDUCATION COURSES

Education courses have additional requirements that students will need to meet in order for an early offer to become unconditional. CHC is committed to helping students succeed. If you don’t have a prerequisite as listed below, please get in contact so we can discuss your options.

To be eligible for a Bachelor of Education course, you must achieve a minimum result of ‘C’ in Units 3 & 4 in a General subject from the below categories. If you are unsure about your marks, ask your teacher or school career advisor. Successful completion of the relevant subject prerequisites will be verified by CHC via QTAC.

The Bachelor of Education courses have non-academic requirements as well.

To be eligible for a Bachelor of Education course, you must achieve a passing result in the NARTE (Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Education) online questionnaire. After you have submitted your QTAC application, you will be provided with a link to complete the NARTE questionnaire.

Successful completion of the NATRE questionnaire will be verified by CHC via QTAC.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants are to submit a completed CHC and upload the required documents as indicated above for the relevant pathway.

Applicants are to submit a QTAC application that lists as the first preference the same course as indicated in the CHC ‘Early Offer’ application.

Upon receipt of a valid CHC ‘Early Offer’ application, CHC will send an acknowledgement email to the applicant at the email address supplied in the application and will commence assessment of the application.

OFFER AND ACCEPTANCE PROCESS

Successful applicants will receive an email from CHC containing an early offer for the nominated course and advice about accepting the offer.

Successful applicants will then receive an offer in the next available QTAC offer round. This offer is to be accepted via QTAC according to the instructions included in the communication from QTAC.

All Early Offers are conditional upon successful applicants completing Year 12. This will be verified by CHC via QTAC.

CLOSING DATE

Applications for CHC ‘Early Offer’ schemes close on November 22, 2024 of the year in which applicants are completing Year 12.

BLUE CARD

Certain courses require that you hold a valid Blue card in order to complete the relevant requirements. If you are aware that you are not eligible to hold a valid Blue card, you are advised not to apply for any courses that require, or might require, the holding of a valid Blue card.

For Education courses, you must be eligible to hold a valid Blue card in order to engage in the practicum requirements of the courses.

For Ministries, Counselling and Human Services courses, you must be eligible to hold a valid Blue card if you intend to undertake the practicum requirements of the courses in areas that require you to engage with children and young people under the age of 18 years.
